Absolutely. There is nothing wrong with cheap heartworm medicine. Although all the brands are available here for low prices and without the need for a prescription the generic heartworm medicines are exceptionally good value.
Brands such as Valuheart and Proheart are just over $20 for a six month supply but they absolutely work just as well as any other heartworm medicine.
Generic heartworm medicine does NOT mean you are getting lower quality. The active ingredients are the same as many of the leading brands, they just don’t come in such good packaging and you won’t be able to get them in a form like the heartgard plus chewables for Dogs. They are normally unflavored tablets that are simply given orally once a month.
If you are low on funds or simply want a very cheap way to give heartworm pills to your Dog then cheap heartworm medicine is the perfect solution.
You don’t always have to spend lots of money to look after your pets. A cheap heartworm medicine will work just as well. Obviously lots of the branded heartworm medicines also offer additional protection to your pets. They often guard against intestinal worms and some even guard against fleas.
Often these are preferrable as they combine many common treatments in one making it easier than multiple pet medications being given each month. However, if you simply want to protect from heartworms then cheap heartworm medicine is entirely acceptable.
