Um, Victoria we mention in the article that Valuheart does not protect against intestinal worms but is a good alternative if the main aim is to protect cheaply against heartworms. We also link to a generic Heartgard Plus that does protect against intestinal worms too so there are two options for pet owners.

So, 2 options for owners to choose from, and many Dogs will be exposed to intestinal worms at some point in their life but it does not mean that they need treating every month, it really depends on the lifestyle and the areas that they are walked. We simply tried to offer our visitors a cheap alternative to save money rather that tout the more expensive options if they do not need them. Is that so wrong? Especially when you consider that many large pet med companies would never take the time to respond honestly and try to help Dog owners save money like we do here.

We actually have pets and owners best interests at heart here, not profits.

This product doesn’t protect against intestinal parasites, which most dogs will be exposed to in their lifetimes. So, Valuheart is NOT the generic equivalent of Heartgard PLUS, since Heartgard PLUS protects against intestinal parasites. What a crock!

Valuheart is a great product. For less than $20 for six months it is a great way to prevent heartworms very cheaply. Generic heartworm medicines are very cost effective and will treat as well as some of the more expensive brands.

The vets prices are extremely high and on top of that they always want you to have a prescription so it makes purchasing from some online stores difficult.

We use Valueheart at my house also. It is a great product that is also affordable. I give my pet his vaccinationa myself and I take him to the rabies clinic each year. I can’t pay the vet prices for heartworm prevention but I want my dog protected!
