FAQ
Please see below for some questions that are often asked by those wishing to buy a heartworm medicine. It can be rather daunting trying to find answers to some questions so hopefully this will be of some help to you.
Can I really buy without a prescription?
You certainly can. All our medications are shipped without the need for a prescription unless stated otherwise. Currently the only items that require a prescription are Sentinel, Tri-Heart and Interceptor. All the rest are prescription free.
Where do you ship to?
Currently all items can only be shipped to addresses within the United States. We are sorry if this is not where you live and know that many people outside the US would like to place orders.
Can I have a discount, I don’t have much money to buy the heartworm medicine.
Sorry, but the prices are already the lowest that you will find online. We charge as little as possible and cannot give any further reductions. We understand that it is very hard for some pet owners to afford the medications they need, but we have to charge the prices listed. Try the generic heartworm medicine known as Valuheart, prices begin at only $15 for a six month supply.
Do I need a test at the vets if I am just switching medications?
If your pet has been on a monthly heartworm medication then you do not need a test at the vets. As long as they have been getting a monthly pill or topical solution applied then it is totally safe to switch products as long as the interval between treatments is only a month. If you have not given any medication for more than a few months then a test at the vets is highly recommended.
What is the best heartworm medicine to give?
This is difficult to answer. It depends on your needs. If all you want is an effective heartworm medicine then Heartgard is a very good choice. But more and more owners are now finding it more cost effective to combine a heartworm treatment with a flea treatment. Brands like Revolution and Advantage Multi are about the same price as popular flea treatments but will also prevent adult heartworms so are a very good choice.
